SOMA – Design, dimensions and light quality

SOMA is an LED table lamp made of glass, iron and aluminium: an organically shaped glass body with a soft colour gradient on a slender, round base.

On a sideboard, bedside table or console, SOMA puts the glass elegantly on display. The glass body releases the light softly and evenly into the room, for a cosy atmosphere and gentle light by the bed. SOMA shares the same design language as the pendant lamp SOMEA and the lamp SOMOS, so you can create a consistent lighting concept across several rooms.

You control SOMA with the touch switch on the cable, located 30 cm along it. A short touch turns the lamp on and off, and if you hold the switch down, you dim the brightness smoothly from 48 to 263 lumens. The light colour is warm white at 2700 K.

The lamp arrives ready to use, and the LED is permanently built in and included. SOMA has no smart home interface of its own, but you can switch it on and off with a smart plug.

FAQ

1 Is the SOMA dimmable?

Yes. You can dim the SOMA continuously by touch: hold the touch switch until the brightness is right. A wall dimmer switch isn't needed for this.

2 Is the SOMA smart home compatible?

No interface of its own – but you can switch the SOMA on and off via a smart plug.

3 Are the light sources replaceable?

The high-quality LEDs are permanently installed in the lamp. In our experience, however, it is usually the transformers rather than the LEDs themselves that are affected by defects in LED lamps. These can generally be replaced quickly. If you ever have any problems with this, we will of course be happy to help you.

4 Can luminaires with IP20 be used in the bathroom?

Lights with protection rating IP20 may only be used in the bathroom outside the protected zones. This means they are not suitable for direct use in the shower or above the bathtub. In dry areas, for example in the middle of the room or on the ceiling, they can however be used. For added safety, we recommend lights with at least protection rating IP44 in the bathroom.

5 Are small bubbles or irregularities in the glass a quality defect?

Each of our glass shades is made using a high-temperature forming process and is mouth-blown. This gives the shade its beautiful shape and creates a true one-of-a-kind piece that makes every lamp something special! Small bubbles or fine air inclusions may occur in the process – they are a typical hallmark of genuine craftsmanship and underline the uniqueness of every lamp. They are not a quality defect and affect neither the beauty nor the function of the product.

6 Is there a money-back guarantee?

You have a 30-day right of return with us.

Return policy: In the event of a complaint, we will of course cover the return costs for you and refund the full amount.

As we are a young, self-financed company and already bear the shipping costs to you, unfortunately we cannot also cover the costs of a regular return. If you send your lamp back within 30 days, you will receive the refund amount minus the return shipping costs.

For a stress-free return process, you can simply register your return via our returns portal. There you can keep track of the current status of your return at any time.
