Reading lamps with dimmable light: Individual brightness for every moment

A dimmable reading lamp adapts to your needs:

During the day as bright reading light.
In the evening for a subdued, cozy mood.

It can be adjusted continuously: From full brightness to subtle lighting.

As a dimmable reading lamp on your bedside table it accompanies you through the last page of your book before falling asleep and doesn't disturb anyone if you switch it on at night at the lowest setting. On the reading chair or sofa in the living room it gives you control over the atmosphere.

So for every time of day and every reading situation you find exactly the lighting and brightness you need right now.

Reading lamps with dimmable brightness: especially practical on the bedside table

Light that is too glaring dazzles, light that is too weak strains the eyes: both rob you of reading comfort and make your eyes tire quickly.

With a dimmable reading lamp you set the brightness as needed to the time of day and the ambient light.

In the bedroom, consideration counts most: A dimmable bedside reading lamp can be turned down so low that your partner keeps sleeping in peace while you finish one more chapter.

But you also benefit in the living area:

A dimmable reading lamp for the living room creates a warm ambience and softens harsh contrasts between light and dark that can be disturbing.
Reduced light in the evening also creates a calmer mood, because your eyes are no longer overstimulated by full brightness. In this way, dimmed light helps you ease into a cozy transition to a good night's rest.

Modern dimmable reading lamps from NEONA: with LED, dimmability and flexible light

Modern LED technology is built into all our dimmable reading lamps from NEONA. LEDs use up to 90 percent less electricity than traditional incandescent bulbs, barely get warm and last for many hours of operation.

Dimming is often done via touch sensor and some models offer different lighting modes from cool white to warm white.

A dimmable floor lamp for reading brings this technology right to your armchair or sofa, and the flicker-free operation of modern LED light sources provides even, calm light. Thanks to higher energy efficiency, your consumption stays lower even when the lamp is on for hours.

Minimalism or industrial look? Lighting styles for every reading nook

The design plays a part in how your reading corner looks and feels.

A dimmable designer reading lamp for the living room from NEONA can set purist or extravagant accents and so help shape the ambience.

On the sofa, a dimmable reading lamp gives you warm, feel-good light, while a dimmable bedside reading lamp provides soft, calming light by the bed. This way, the light itself becomes an atmospheric design element.

Retro: Round shapes such as spheres for a cosy reading corner with soft lighting and a touch of retro charm.
Scandi & Purist: Clean lines, matt finishes and simple shapes.
Industrial & Modern: Metal, dark colours and striking shapes look great in urban, modern settings as dimmable floor lamps for reading in an armchair or on the sofa.
Classic & Timeless: Elegant shapes and subtle light elements that suit any interior as reading lamps in the living room.

Four steps to your perfect dimmable reading lamp

You will find the right dimmable reading lamp most easily if you first clarify your usage situation.

Think about where you read and how much space you have. Then check quality features such as flicker-free LED, pleasant light colour and the dimming levels.

These four steps give you concrete tips so that you find the model that suits your bed, sofa, bedside table or desk and convinces you in the long run.

Determine the location: A small bedside lamp for the bed, a large arc lamp for the sofa or a dimmable table lamp for the desk?
Choose the dimming function: With a step switch for fixed brightness levels or stepless dimming for full control.
Check and choose light colour and colour temperature: Warm white for relaxing in the evening, neutral to cool white for concentrated reading during the day.
Consider the design and flexibility of the light cone: Can the light cone be aimed and adjusted at the book without dazzling?

Discover our range of dimmable reading lamps now and find the model that suits your reading nook. From the bedside light by the bed to the floor lamp by the sofa: with the dimming function you regulate your light exactly as you need it. Browse the variants, compare designs, sizes and light colours and bring home your warm, low-glare reading light.

FAQ

What are the advantages of a dimmable reading lamp over a normal lamp?

A dimmable reading lamp adjusts its brightness continuously to the time of day and surroundings, instead of only being switched on or off. This gives you a calm atmosphere in the evening and bright reading light during the day, which many people find pleasant.

Which reading lamp is suitable for the bed and the bedside table?

For a dimmable reading lamp by the bed, space-saving table lamps, wall lights or compact bedside lamps with a flexible beam are a good choice.

How does dimming work with LED reading lamps?

Depending on the model, you dim LED reading lamps with a touch sensor, step switch or continuous rotary dimmer. Many models offer lighting modes from warm white to cool white. LED technology works without flicker, stays cool and generally allows you to adjust the brightness in fine steps, from the full beam to subdued light.

Which light color is the most comfortable for the eyes with dimmable reading lamps?

Many people find warm white light particularly pleasant in the evening, because it has less of a blue tint and creates a cozy evening mood. Neutral white light suits focused reading during the day. Models with several color temperatures combine both and let you choose the light color to suit the time of day.
